CARING FOR YOUR BELLINI FURNITURE

Like two children, no two pieces are identical in color. Each piece of furniture has its own unique beauty and characteristics. When buying furniture, anticipate Mother Nature's beauty marks such as grain variations, knots and mineral streaks. These differences are to be expected and are the hallmarks in the nature of the products.

Bellini Product Care Guidelines

  1. To maintain the beauty of your Bellini furniture, dust regularly with a soft cloth. Occasionally, for soil build up, wipe with a soft damp cloth using mild soap and water and wipe dry. Do not allow moisture to remain on the surface.
  2. To prevent discoloration, do not place furniture in direct sunlight.
  3. To avoid marks, never write directly on the top of furniture surfaces.
  4. Never use window cleaners or arsenal products on polished furniture. Ammonia may harm the finish.
  5. Do not place rubber-based products directly on furniture surfaces.
  6. To prevent yellowing, do not use commercial furniture polishes, pastes or waxes.
  7. To prevent cracking, maintain a uniform level of room humidity.
  8. Never place hot appliances on furniture surfaces.
  9. Do not overstuff furniture drawers.
  10. Open and close furniture drawers using both knob pulls.

Bellini Drawer Tracks

Prevent drawers from sticking by lubricating drawer tracks every six months. Over time, dust can accumulate on the steel ball bearings and cause the drawer to stick.

Instructions:

  1. Open drawer and wipe each track with a soft cloth.
  2. Spray the track area lightly with WD-40® lubricant. Direct spray away from garments, upholstery and carpeting.
  3. Open and close drawer to relubricate the tracks. Recommended once every six months or as needed.
  4. ***PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MORE RECENT FURNITURE HAS DOVE TAIL DRAWERS WITH DRAWER TRACKS UNDERNEATH THE DRAWERS AND NOT ON THE SIDE OF THE DRAWER.

IMPORTANT CRIB SAFETY INFORMATION

The JPMA Certification Program

All Bellini cribs are certified by the Juvenile Product Manufacturers Association. The JPMA certification seal is available only to those crib manufacturers who voluntarily submit their products for periodic testing. Only after the product passes rigorous testing can it display the certification seal. All Bellini crib models are tested quarterly

by Intertek Testing Services, an independent testing facility sanctioned by the Juvenile Product Manufacturers Association.

In addition, Bellini cribs meet and exceed federal consumer product safety commission standards.

From the JPMA

JPMA urges all parents and caregivers to look for the JPMA certification seal on products and packages when shopping for baby. To help retailers make purchasing decisions while keeping safety in mind, JPMA has developed a unique Certification Program that has been guiding parents for more than 25 years.

Look for the JPMA Certification Seal on a product or its package for added assurance the manufacturer designed and built it with safety in mind. The JPMA Certification Seal ensures the product was built to the very highest safety standards.

The Certification Program currently includes bassinets and cradles, bath seats, carriages and strollers, full-size cribs, gates and enclosures, hand-held infant carriers, high chairs, infant bouncers, infant swings, non-full size cribs and play yards, portable hook-on chairs, stationary activity centers, portable bed Rails, toddler beds, soft infant carriers and walkers.

The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), a highly regarded non-profit organization, publishes the voluntary standards used in the JPMA Certification Program. Industry members work together with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumer groups and other interested parties to develop the standards.

JPMA Crib Safety Guidelines

  • NEVER place your crib near windows, draperies, blinds or wall mounted decorative accessories with long cords.
  • The crib should not have missing, loose, broken or improperly installed screws, brackets or other hardware on the crib or the mattress support.
  • Crib slats or spindles should be spaced no more than 2 3/8" apart, and none should be loose or missing.
  • Never use a crib with corner posts over 1/16" above the end panels (unless they're over 16" high for a canopy.)
  • The crib mattress should fit snugly with no more than two fingers width between the edge of the mattress and the crib side. Otherwise, baby can get trapped between the mattress and the side of the crib.
  • No cutout areas on the headboard or footboard so baby's head cannot get trapped. No splinters or rough edges.
  • Look for the JPMA Certification Seal.
