Bellini goes Nautical

posted by admin No Comments

Our most popular theme for boys has been anything Nautical or pirates!  Little boys just can’t get enough and we love all of the blues and reds it brings to a room.

In our recent photo shoot we made our big boys room with our Jessica collection in espresso, nautical themed.  We used a deep navy wide stripe rug from Capel rugs, and coordinating navy bedding from angel song.  We brought in the red with throw pillows and lighting by Charn and Company.

One of our customers wanted to design a nautical nursery and we loved the finished room!  The lighthouse mural turned out fantastic and really brought the room to life.  Thye choose our Jordan crib with the Jessica 6 drawer and slide top, which complimented all of the blues.

Wallpaper is making a comeback and we love the statement it makes in a room. Hibou has fabulous children’s themed wallpaper, and of course we love this pirate on. Bring the nautical theme into a room through you accessories, at Bellini we only work with the best artists to create your custom furniture.  One of our favorites is Totdesigns, they designed this sailboat night table to go next to a glider. This can also be painted on a hamper or mirror .

Shoes to step into spring!

posted by Christine No Comments

Whether you’re a new mom, an expecting mom or perhaps just a mom in need of a style update this season, we all know that the one thing that almost never changes is our shoe size. You can have three kids and still have the same size foot. You can almost never say that about your pre-kid jeans.

Not only that but your shoes are the one thing that you can quickly change from the park to the PTA meeting to date night. They are portable and easily changeable. So many colors, so many styles…how do you choose which ones?!

Let’s make this easy and go with four must-have classic styles that will look great (and feel great) on every mom this season from a size 5 to a size 11.

The wedge — the one sandal that can take you from day dressy to night casual and are great for beach vacations. Sperry Top-Sider Harbordale Sandal, $117.95, at nordstrom.com.

The flat sandal — let this be your casual, everyday shoe and your pop of color for the season. Great for walking to the park or wearing with a dress for Sunday brunch. DV by Dolce Vita Archer, $69, at piperlime.com.

The tennis shoe — simple, yet stylish that you can wear with cropped pants, shorts and even skirts and dresses. Bensimon Colorful Elastic Sneakers, $55, at madewell.com.

The flat shoe: As moms, you know that heels just aren’t in our vocabulary anymore. It’s almost impossible to get comfortable wearing them and a good pair of flats just makes our day (and night). These will take you anywhere this season…and I mean anywhere! Tahari Veronica Flat, $89, at piperlime.com.

Spring Nesting

posted by Deborah No Comments

Spring is here and no one is happier then me!! Even though this winter has been very mild, I am so ready to see all that spring has to give. The birds are already singing their songs and building their nests. Having a nest somewhere in your house as an accessory piece, will surely remind you of new beginnings in nature which always starts in the season of spring. I searched around on Etsy and found  some nests that I would love to purchase to remind me of just that.  Happy Spring!

Why a Bellini crib?

posted by admin No Comments

Bellini has been designing and manufacturing our exclusive collection of cribs for close to three decades. We prioritize your child’s safety and never compromise on quality. To ensure this, all of our cribs are certified by the Juvenile Product Manufacturer’s Association (JPMA).  In order to bear this certificate we must meet and exceed every guideline and government regulation that is currently enforced. We use premium quality woods, with fine craftsmanship to create timeless styles with intricate details. Our cribs are beautiful, practical, and are designed to grow with your child. We wanted to highlight a few things about our cribs so you can see why they stand out from all the rest.  We have 9 different styles to choose from which are available in 6 different finishes, depending on the style.  6 of our 9 cribs convert into a full size bed, using the front board as a foot board and the back board as the head board. (see insert below)

Style and beauty is important to us but not as important as safety!  Our cribs have never been recalled and have details that we know are important to all parents.  We use a non toxic finish and use premium quality wood for all of our cribs.

Still have questions?  Contact your local Bellini store and their sales staff will be happy to help answer any questions you have or assist you in designing your dream nursery.

Susan Tollefsen:  Quirky, Fun, Stylish…with a Twist Raleigh, NC-based Susan Tollefsen (Susan Tollefsen Interiors) has been an interior designer for 12 years but she’s been working at design in one form or another most of her life – from crafting Barbie’s Dream Drapes as a child to styling dorm rooms in college. Design has been a lifelong passion and she always brings freshness and a new way of looking at things to every project. Flip through her portfolio and you’ll find a sense of style that is fun yet thought-provoking…ever-stylish but with a twist!

As the weather is turning warmer, we think of pretty dresses and longer days. Easter and Passover are usually the first family social gatherings we can show off  our Spring fashions.  I fell in love with this girls line, that I found from The Little Style File.  The line is called Mischla Aoki, and the collection looks as glamorous as it sounds. Their couture line is for babies from 12 months to kids 6 years.  I have highlighted some of my favorite styles.

Check out the whole collection it’s so gorgeous, a name to keep our eyes on!  Accessories are a girls best friend, and you are never too young to start.  Sweet jewelery for girls by Blee inara.  They add beautiful detail in there pieces but fun and wearable for little girls.  Below is their cream pearl chain with charms and yellow bow, stop by their website to see the whole collection.

Want something more simple?  Mindy Harris collections, below is her heart bangles available in infant to teen sizes.  My favorite online boutique will be selling them, to order visit the Beans Closet.

When it comes to dressing up your little man, I have to say I have always been a fan and always will be a fan of Ralph Lauren.  His collections lends his trademark casual luxury and traditional styling to beautiful classics.  Love the Princeton jacket in khaki paired up navy pants.

A few days ago, it was 75 degrees outside…an anomaly for March, no doubt, but still a welcome reminder that spring is around the corner.  If you’re like me, then you share in my anticipation of warmer days ahead that bring with them not only cuter clothes, but also, and more importantly, easier activities for your little one (think trips to the community pool and playground).  While spring fills my heart with hope of fun in the sun, it also ushers in days upon days of rainy weather that necessitates staying indoors and beating boredom the old fashioned way: with planned activities.  Here are a few indoor activity ideas to help you make it through these rainy days like a pro:

1.  Art Projects - Don’t gasp… I’m not talking about crayons on the wall or paint on the carpet.  Rather, thanks to water paint and invisible markers, art projects can be both fun and (gasp now) clean.  Crayola makes a fabulous product called “Color Wonder” that has invisible markers with ink colors that show up only on the specialty Color Wonder coloring pages.

Another option is the magical paint with water books.  Give your little one a little cup of water and a paintbrush and watch as his strokes magically transform into colorful watercolor expressions.  Biggest mess potential: a little bit of spilled water.  Peanuts in the toddler world ;) .

2.  Puzzles - Nothing keeps a kid busier than taking things apart and trying to figure out how to put them back together.  Enter puzzles.  Teach your child eye-hand coordination, shapes, colors, fine motor skills, words and just plain how to have fun by offering a wide variety of puzzles at play time.  I particularly love Melissa and Doug puzzles, which are beautiful, well-made, and sometimes, even make sounds!

3.  Story Time - Prep your little one for summer time by introducing books about summer.  Even if you don’t have the time to sit down and read to your child, flipping through picture books with summer images will help your little one prepare for the fun of the warmer months ahead.  Consider Curious George Goes to the Beach, Froggy Learns to Swim and Little Quack’s Hide and Seek.

Kate Lauren Designs

posted by admin No Comments

Kate Lauren designs is a soft and whimsical bedding company from Australia.  Created by mom, Julia Parianos who is now a mother of three.  She has always wanted to create a mix of fresh, timeless and elegant collections for children’s rooms. Each collection has been inspired and named after her own children or her children’s friends. Their stories are real stories and she says she has tried to capture the essence of their characters through her designs.  Not only does she create bedding, but fun and playful accessories using coordinating fabrics.  Her accessories line includes lanterns, pillows, blankets, lamp shades and wall decor.

We had the chance to chat with Julie and find out what inspires her.

1. What everyday things inspires you to create your collections?

My children and my children’s friends are a constant inspiration to me. Each of my collections is named after one of my kids (Luke Michael is my son, Sophie Elizabeth is my youngest daughter, and Kate Lauren Designs was named after my eldest daughter). They truly do inspire me and each collection includes a brief description of its namesake’s personality.

2. What is your favorite collection from Kate Lauren Designs?

It really is difficult to choose! I think our newest collection, Zachary Hunter, is my favorite right now. It is so soft and fresh and would suit a baby’s nursery just as well as a teenager’s retreat.

3. With such a busy schedule, how do you balance work, family, and me time?

Lots of late nights and not a lot of sleep! I’ve never worked harder in my life and am absolutely loving every minute of it. I try to outsource where I can and have help with house cleaning and other duties, to free up more time for work and family. When I am away on travel, I always make sure I have some “me time” whether it is having a long hot soak in the bath or reading a great book.

4. What advice would you have for other moms just trying to start their own dream company?

I think you have to know beyond a doubt that it is what you want to pursue. There is a tremendous amount of work involved in starting up your own company and there may be times when you feel like giving up. However if you are passionate about what you do, you will find a way through.

5. Do you have any future plans you would like to share, maybe new collections or products?

I am currently working on another collection for boys. There isn’t as much choice in décor for boy’s rooms here in Australia. While red and navy colours are a traditional option for boys’ room décor, there are so many more great color palettes that I would like to offer customers.
