Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be the newest Bellini Buzz guest blogger. My name is Stephanie Corfee and I am a painter/illustrator/author/designer/crafter kinda gal. I love being creative and have a seriously colorful, spirited aesthetic. I’m not sure if i speak for all moms, but my artistic inspiration has definitely seen a shift since i had my first child six and a half years ago. I found that i was seeing my world through a child’s eyes all the time and it really showed in my work. I’ve since had another child and have yet another new baby on the way next spring, and I can tell you that my artwork and illustrations have stayed the course. Although I don’t paint with only kid’s spaces in mind, I do love seeing my work in nurseries and playrooms…..(and family rooms, entry ways, dining rooms, too, of course!) The above artwork is a 3-foot square acrylic on canvas titled, Ballerina. I was inspired to paint a piece using a traditional childhood them, but in a more sophisticated/abstracted way. This piece could grow with a child and be enjoyed for a lifetime. My son has asked me to interpret “astronaut” next. So stay tuned!
