Yes, you can use Shiny Lacquer

I LOVE lacquer….especially walls, which can be translated into any room. Miles Redd one of my favorite designers is known for his bold interiors and super shiny walls. Here are a few of his designs using painted lacquered walls and cabinets…Just STUNNING!

(added bonus ...peacock colored walls!!)

OK…(Plug for me) here is one of my dining rooms…I used a Farrow and Ball high gloss paint…It is actually a latex paint that looks like lacquer. (F and B paint is expensive but the finish is excellent but leave shiny to the professional painters…your walls must be smooth a silk!)

So one more great way to get these glossy walls is wallpaper…yep..Phillip Jefferies has great lacquered wallpaper!!
