1. What inspired you to create a perfect “alternative” to the bumper?

We were aware of the dangers of the traditional crib bumpers and the concern that parents had using them. Already in the industry, with the Snug & Tug Swaddling Blanket, we noticed parents frustrated in general with their bumper and then with safety hazards on top of that, parents were forgoing them all together. We did some product research and found no stylish alternatives truly addressed all the issues surrounding traditional crib bumpers.

3. With such a busy schedule, how do you balance work, family, and me time?

Well, I am not going to lie, it is difficult to create a perfect balance with life, work and family. It’s always a work in progress. As the kids get older it gets slightly easier, but I believe as long as you are aware of your efforts to create a balance then you are in a good place!

4. Do you have any future plans you would like to share, maybe new products?

We are expanding our Wonder Bumper line to offer matching decor so parents can create a complete a beautiful and safe nursery!

Here our Sydney crib is dressed in their baby basic design in pink and cream.

Our Isabella crib is one of our classic cribs with clean lines, storage drawer and will coordinate with any of our Bellini furniture collections.  It looks gorgeous in all finishes and only converts to a toddler bed.  If you are looking to a crib that converts to a full size bed we have the Alex crib.

With the subtle curved lines and using the crib’s headboard, it will be a fantastic children’s bed.  As always, the Alex crib coordinate beautifully with any of our furniture collections and is available in all of the finishes we offer.

Our newest addition and best seller the Debby crib! It features beautiful appliqués and traditional spindle rails and is available in white, antique white, espresso and mahogany finishes. The Debby crib can transition into a toddler bed and then a full sized bed using both the cribs headboard and foot board.

Our Jessica collection is one of our most popular collections which is available in all of our finishes and offers a huge selection of different pieces that all coordinate with our cribs.   Its classic style, bunt feet and fluted edges are signature features to this collection.

The Jessica collection has timeless pieces which are perfect for boy or girl themed rooms and nurseries.  As always all of the Bellini collections look great with decorative knobs, in this bedroom we have added a nautical knob to go with the nautical themed boy’s room. You can find all of the decor pieces used in these pictures at your local Bellini store.

The Carly collection is our newest collection that features a vintage French flare. People are drawn to the details of the ribbon and floral carvings which adds the perfect romantic touch.

The french legs and the curved lines sets the Carly collection from all the other collections.  Adding decorative knobs always adds a personal touch and allows you to bring in specific colors to match your room decor.

The collection is available in antique white and espresso, which is our most popular color for 2011.  Some of the pieces that are featured in the Carly Collection include the 6 drawer dresser, double dresser, 3 drawer 1 door, bookcase, armoire, and night table.  All of Bellini’s pieces are made with premium wood materials and easy glide slide tracks for our drawers.   The Carly collection will coordinate with all of our cribs perfectly to create your dream nursery!

Also this year, we helped Bethanny Frankel make her dream Safari Nursery come true.  Her nursery was so bright and cheery, she was thrilled when the nursery was complete.  She decided to go with our Alex crib, the Jessica 3 drawer 1 door, and our slide top all in the espresso finish.  Her glider was a yellow chenille corduroy by Dutailier and bedding from Gordonssbury.  For the finishing touches she went with the safari themed hand painted pictures from Renditions by Reesa, which she hung over the crib.

Our latest celebrity to shop Bellini is Adrienne Bosh, wife of Chris Bosh. Chris plays in the NBA for the Miami Heat.  They are so excited to be expecting their first child together, they are still in the design stage so we will keep you posted on what collection they go with.  We are so excited for them!

The room on the left is Ava’s room from Florida, our winner to one of our facebook room contests.  She used the bookcase and 3 drawer 1 drawer from our Carly collection.  The crib, our most popular, is the Debby crib in antique white.  Bellini cribs are not only beautiful but practical, the Debby crib converts to a full size bed.  We love how she used the earth toned rug which brings a nice contrast to the romantic pink walls.

The nursery pictured in the middle is Sophie’s room from CT.  We love how you feel you are in a life sized room from a dollhouse, from the floral wall paper to the jeweled chandelier.  Here again is the Debby crib shown in white.

Amy’s room from Boca Raton , FL. is the nursery on the right. Our beautiful Bella crib in  antique white.  The Bella crib also converts to a full size bed, making the transition from baby to toddler so easy.  Our customers always do a fabulous job with their murals, we love the sweet design and soft colors used.

We offer so many different finishes in our collections but we wanted to highlight our latest finish Espresso.   It’s our most popular color and is available in our Carly, Jessica, and Domani collections.  The richness is so beautiful that it matches with any bedding color, boy or girl, nursery or big kid room.  From soft pink tones to bold blue’s anything goes, dare we say it’s the new white in furniture.

1. What  inspired you to become a designer and start your own business?

I have always been both creative and entrepreneurial in nature, from hand-painting and selling t-shirts from my house when I was about 10 years old to then designing Bat Mitzva and Sweet 16 invitations for all my friends.  When I graduated college, I worked in fashion for many years in NYC, but I always longed to own my own creative company.

In 2002, when I was pregnant with my first child, I decided to leave my position as the Special Events Director at the 92nd Street Y to launch my fashion-forward invitation company, so I could work from home when the children were little.

2. How has becoming a com inspired your designs?

Becoming a mom has inspired my designs in so many exciting and wonderful ways.  My inspirations actually began when I was pregnant with my first child and noticed that the invitations and thanks you notes were all very traditional and unexciting.  At that time, clothing fir pregnant women was just becoming more stylish and fashionable, so I decided to launch an “Expecting in Style” Stationary Collection of chic baby shower invitations and thank you notes that took the industry by storm.  Soon after that release (when 4 women in my office were pregnant & we all had our sonogram photos just taped up on our computers), I was inspired to launch our “Love at First Sight” Sonogram frames, which are truly the perfect gift for any mom-to-be and will be treasured forever.

3.We know Angie Harmon Baby Shower invitations were designed by you, what other celebrities have you worked with?

Brittney Spears, Ellen Pompeo, and Halle Berry all used our baby shower thank you notes. Also, Katherine Heigl used our baby shower invitations when hosting Ellen Pompeo’s shower!  Maria Cross,  Cindy Crawford, and Cristina Aguilera have also used our designs for special events.

4. Name three words that describe the Bonnie Marcus Collection?

Fashionable, Functional, and FUN!  ”I have 3 little boys at home, so being around pink and sparkles all day is extremely fun for me, as I come home each day to a blue house filled with lots of dinosaurs and super heros!”  ”I have the perfect balance of life”

5. Do you have any future plans you would like to share, maybe new designs or any new products added to the Bonnie Marcus collection?

We actually just launched a fabulous, fashionable Greeting Card Collection for Target this week.  ”It’s available for a limited tome, so get there before they are gone” Also, please be on the lookout for our “Celebrity Cards for a Cause” holiday photo card design available at Kodak Kiosks around the country (at all Target & CVS stores). Paper-lovers Molly Sims, Angie Harmon, and Marcia Cross have all designed holiday cards for us, and a percentage of the proceeds will go to children’s charities around the world.  ”We are thrilled that we could be a part of helping this important cause this holiday season!”
