Count down is on, Valentine’s day is a month away.  I love this holiday for the colors, the   hearts, and of course the candy!  My kids always want to decorate the house with dollies and hearts, although I don’t love to turn my house into a hallmark store.  So, I like to add a little love to their rooms.  For my daughters room I love to add fabric garland around her windows and bed.  This year I found these adorable stuffed fabric hearts and pom pom trim, and I think the gold accents are fabulous.

The paper pom pom trend has been around for a few years now but I am still obsessed with it.  A perfect (inexpensive) accent to any sleepover or holiday decoration, so I change the colors of the pom poms in my daughters room for special occasions.  She loves waking up to a colorful paper arrangement over her bed.

Another obsession I have is for “Pillows”, I am always rearranging them or bringing in new color combos all around my house. So naturally I bring in heart themed pillows to my daughters bed and accent bench.  I found these metallic heart pillows and want them in every color.

So, of course my son doesn’t want heart shaped pillows or paper pom poms in his room but he wants something to decorate his room for Valentine’s Day.  Candy display, Another inexpensive way to bring in color and it’s yummy.  Gumballs are his favorite and look great in a candy jar but you can add any type of candy that is their favorite.

Nightlights are another great way to decorate a child’s room and a fun way to bring in the celebration of the holiday.  The beaded heart nightlight which sits on a shelf or night table is perfect if you have a teen.  Animal themed night lights, like this one from Oopsy Daisy, are great for boy’s rooms.
